Engines 311 and 313 both carry Amkus "Jaws of Life" systems and other rescue/extrication tools. One of these units is dispatched to any vehicle accidents or other situations in which a potential rescue is indicated. Most department personnel are certified as Vehicle & Machinery Rescue Technicians and Confined Space Rescue Technicians.
